2016: The Year of the Duckish
Happy New Year, Duckish readers!
Our first few months in business have been truly amazing! We launched in October; exhibited at the wonderful souk@sat bazaar in Montreal in November and at Wonder’neath Artist Studios’ holiday pop-up shop in December; and shipped our products to customers in St. John’s, Vancouver, and dozens of points in between.
We were featured in Halifax’s independent weekly newspaper The Coast, as well as on design, culture and business site Baron Magazine. Duckish is also listed on Think Dirty, a popular app and database that rates personal care products based on the toxicity of their ingredients. Our products all scored a 0, the safest rating! We’ve never been so happy to get 0 on a test!
OK, enough boasting. Let’s take a photo break. After a busy November and December, we spent the holidays relaxing in and around Halifax. Here’s a shot from a late-afternoon Christmas stroll along the beautiful Salt Marsh Trail:
Two days later, winter finally woke up. This snowy shot was taken just up the road from Peggy’s Cove:
That was refreshing! Much like a soak with our fabulous citrus, lavender or mint bath salts ;)
Now, back to business: 2016 is going to be a big year for Duckish! We’ll be expanding our network of retailers, adding informative and engaging content to our website, and developing new all-natural products to add to our roster. In addition to all that, we just lowered our shipping rate to $7.95 and our free shipping minimum to $75 to make it easier for customers to get Duckish delivered right to their doors!
Speaking of our customers, we want to offer our heartfelt thanks for the incredible support and feedback we’ve received since our launch. It’s such an amazing feeling to get an order from someone we’ve never met, who might live on the other side of the country, and a week later to get a message from them, completely unprompted, telling us how much they love our stuff! Or to spend time speaking to people at craft fairs, finding out a little about them and why they use natural products.
All that to say that we can’t wait to see what 2016 has in store for Duckish, and we hope you’ll join us for the ride!
