When we started Duckish in 2015, we knew we wanted to not only make fun, safe, all-natural skin care products, but also connect with local organizations that are doing great things for the community. With that in mind, we’re excited to announce that we’ve partnered with the YWCA to hire Duckish’s very first employee!
After a chance meeting at a fantastic Business Women Connect event, Carolyn was put in touch with Belinda LeBlanc, the Coordinator of YWCA Halifax’s Launch Program. Launch is an “employment program for young women experiencing multiple barriers to employment.” It provides participants with valuable training and skills development, as well as a job placement, which is where Duckish comes in!
Given how strongly we believe in the program’s mission, we were thrilled to be invited to take part as an employer, and we were even happier to be introduced to the candidate Belinda had in mind for us. So without further ado, we’d like to introduce you to Krista, the first official Duckish employee! She’ll be helping us do everything from make bath bombs and body butter to sending out your orders and bookkeeping!
